Simple and Oh So Sweet

There were so many things in this past week that filled me with so much joy, and they were all just little things that don’t seem like they would have as much joy-power in them. But life is made of those little simple things, and if we don’t find joy in them, where are we going to get it on a regular basis?

Anyway, here are a few of the simple and sweet things that made this past week such a joy!

One evening this week, Josh came home and said he had a surprise activity for everyone! After dinner, he announced that we were all going to Disneyland! First, we each decorated a ticket to get us in, then we each got ears to wear, and our picture taken!

I just can’t decide who has the awesomest face in this picture!

While at Disneyland I got to meet Belle–though when she came out Fay was nowhere to be seen…

Look how excited I am to meet Belle! She was even more beautiful in real life than she is in the movie!

We also met Tigger, but Carter disappeared for that part… The kids got to go on a couple rides–one where they rode around in a car (atop a diaper box) and saw different Disney Characters (you can see Mickey and company behind me and Belle), and one roller coaster where Josh found a video of a roller coaster and held the kids up and moved them around with the movements of the video. Alas, I was too big for both rides. But it was still super fun!

On Friday, Josh decided we really needed to do something fun after such a long week. So we declared an evening with no rules. We went to the store and I had the enormous privilege of saying “YES!” to the kids when they asked for a new toy! (Do any other moms get tired of being responsible all the time?) Then for dinner we ate pizza and donuts! Josh made a slide out of a folding table which was enjoyed by all! And finally, we all watched The Lion King! It was all just so fun!

They were all moving too fast to ever get a good picture.

Then yesterday, I went to the temple!!!
That was wonderful in and of itself, but when I got home, we all went to play in the snow together. We made snow-angels, snow-balls, and a snowman! Carter loved eating all the snow, though we tried to encourage him to eat the fresh stuff instead of the stuff on his boots…

Then we were all freezing! So we came inside and warmed up!

They wanted their slippers and their blankets. They were both so cute all snuggled!

Life can be so delightful!
